Ready, set, go!

Now that you have your own blog, let’s remember a few things:

• ensure that you fully understand the student blogging policy that is posted on the DI SharePoint.
  
• your blog is your DI class blog – if you wish, you can also create personal blog but keep in mind safe blogging protocol, especially if you go fully public.
  
• from time to time I will ask you to contribute to this DI class blog as well as to each others’ .
  
• you can also check out my other blog: BancroftBlog where I share ideas about teaching Digital Immersion. The first posting there was actually for you to read!

To make your blogging easier, download Windows LiveWriter which will enable you to enter text, hyperlinks, photos, videos and tags. Tomorrow in class, we’ll review protocol, Blogger dashboard, and LiveWriter. I hope you’ll enjoy setting up your own blog and then contributing to others’.
One of the first places to check out will be Riverside student Emily Chan’s 2010 Olympics blog, 17 Days of Sport . There are several student blogs on the Students Live! website so take a peek, add a comment and then consider what you could write about your own 2010 experiences.
